| There is a stray kitty living at my house, who unfortunately tested positive on Feline Leukemia. I have already seven cats on my own, so I can not take her in. I would like to find her a home, or at least a foster home. She is a little bit shy, but once she warms up, she loves attention and she is very sweet. She is about 2-3 years old, spayed female, blue color. She is in very good condition, but she would have to be only kitty at home or in a household with other kitties that are positive on FeLV. This is in Kansas City, MO area, if anyone can help, I would appreciate it. I would be happy to answer any questions that may hepl to find her a good home. |

We had a wonderful cat with leukemia many years ago. He lived to be
nearly 8 years old. The doctors said that was a miracle in itself, but he had a nice, happy life. Leukemia cats can be placed with dogs or OTHER leukemia cats. Their time is limited (although I hear stories about new medical products to help them). Can you possibly find a neighbor with a fairly calm dog who might take in the cat? When leukemia strikes, it's usually the end, but the cat needs a fairly calm life in the meantime. Why not consider an OLDER neighbor with no other animals? They might keep each other company for a few short years. Thanks for caring about this pathetic soul. |

have u contacted cat rescues? |
Yes, I can't tell how many mails I have sent, most didn't answer and those few that did wrote they can not take leukemia cat. I found one place who would take her, I drove 2.5 hours one way, but I couldn't leave her there, the conditions was very bad. It's long story, I am trying to find home for her for some time.
